Hard work but good money. Long hours and bad management. Overall company can be good for your personal life because of the money you can make. Good equipment also.

Hard work , great pay

Great company to work for , hard work but pay was worth it , only left to move to another state and no location close to where I was at. Pay was raised twice a year and great benefits.

Would not recommend

My time at McLane was short. The other workers in my department were friendly and willing to help if you were having trouble. The job itself was ok and the pay was decent. But it's very fast paced and they push you to make rate, which can be stressful. Lots of walking involved. One of the downsides for me was you never knew what time you were getting off. You work until the day's orders are filled. No holidays off except for Thanksgiving day and Christmas day. I'm sure there are people who like working there, but it just wasn't the job for me.

Good place to work overall

Definitely a job that pays well for the work that you do. I can be hard for extra board workers until you have a sense of direction in the city your delivering in. I would say that its a really good job but you have to work hard for the pay.

Not good!

Treatment of employees is bad. Management is absolutely horrible! Their human resource team in very unreliable. Super high turnover. They cant keep employees. Be it in the warehouse, management or human resources. In 6 months they went through 2 pesidents and 2 vice presidents. Their sick time policy is horrible. Fired because of complications after having covid!

raises are not comparable / not able to get full 40 hours a week

the recent raise was a slap in the face, my husband has worked there for 16 years and got .25 cents while the grade above him got 1.25 not sure that is comparable at all. Hiring summer help does not help your full time staff get their hours in for the week. offer them cleaning or something else to do in order to get their hours. it is hard to pay your bills when you are not even getting your full pay check.Having worked there I know there are plenty of jobs that can be done to ensure you get your hours

A complete disaster

This company I worked for 8.5 years. They were constantly putting more work on us, above our pay grade (we were grade 2, giving us grade 4 work, but not paying us). The supervisors hardly came to our department in the back of warehouse. Our team leader never got his hands dirty. They would not give proper license for equipment but expect you to use it. And the main equipment (handcart) were always missing.

Hard Work Pays Off

Definitely not for the faint of heart, you must be in peak, physical shape to meet the demands of this physically strenuous job. You also must have a very high-level (or willing to learn) of maneuvering and driving skills to park at the various YUM Restaurant parking lots, always being wary of multiple hazards including parked cars, buildings, landscaping, dumpsters, curbs, and other obstacles you may encounter. The tasks set before you day in and day out are simple: acquire paperwork, assemble/inspect equipment for routes (truck, trailer, hand trucks, yes, this job involves two-wheeled dollies and ramps, not easy lift gates and pallet jacks) and depart for night (usually 10pm-12am and returning morning-afternoon, anywhere from 10-28 HR shifts depending on your route mileage, case count, and store count). Management is mostly on your side if you do your job consistently and thoroughly (BE CAREFUL DRIVING TO AND FROM STORE LOTS AS THEY CAN BE EXTREMELY TIGHT AND HAVE LITTLE ROOM FOR MANUEVERING***), without taking unsafe shortcuts The work atmosphere can make it difficult when you work with other drivers who can bring down the pace (inconsistent work ethic, laziness, constant complaining/grumbling), and there is the aspect of cluster-...... loads from the warehouse, which decide on any given day how they want to load your trailer (stickers on top/sides/bottom of boxes or none at all, unstrapped pallets falling over, no loadlocks, backwards-loaded pallets which require digging out or walking on top of pallets to retrieve), but I figure the pay is enough to keep you motivated -

Good pay bad everything else

The pay is good but you will never have a short day. Every load is at least 16hours long. They don’t care about you or what you have going on, the only thing they care about is that the load gets delivered. Safety is the last thing on their minds, it’s basically non-existent. You get about 3 weeks of paid vacation but actually getting to use it is the tricky part.

Hard work

Some of the hardest work I have ever done in my life. Not sure how it is now but I can tell you it was a paid weight loss plan for sure. Long hours, no family time and no sleep.

Nothing

I have never worked a job where you have no idea when you are getting off. They will tell you in orientation that the pay is good but you are going to work for every penny you get. No home work balance guys were working 14-15 hours a day and if you got off at 1:00 am they still expect you to be in at 9 am. Only time you got any help was at audit time. Worse place I ever encountered.

Easy workplace

Not a bad place to work at. Days were sometimes long or short depending on the work load. Heavy lifting and fast paced, but you get to work independently. Very busy during holidays.

The good; they pay well, the bad; everything else

I worked here 37 yrs as a delivery driver and it used to be a decent job. But the last 5-6 yrs they have managed to make it a terrible place to work. You can make decent money but the work is very hard. They have the worse scanner in the business (very slow and unresponsive) They can’t figure out how to load the new trailers right, they use a very heavy ramp that is a maintenance nightmare. And the management at all levels could care less about curing any of these issues. A very frustrating place to work.

Productive but unmorale

The good thing is the pay is decent and you get your hours.The bad things are there are no excuses for being late or tardy even with a Dr note. Or even when you are throwing up sick they still want you to work.Most of the coworkers (not the supervisors) are discouraging and competitive to the point often others quit due to this. Sometimes you don’t get to go home until your 16 hour limit is up.

Strict attendance policy but fair to their workers

I was challenged by the work at first but enjoyed my time there. My skill and work ethic was quickly recognized. I was given the chance to try for a promotion and was selected for the positions. I was promoted twice in two years

Do not work here

The manager here are very unprofessional, you have no life outside of mclane you never know what time you are getting off expect to stay at least 15 hours a day.

Great job

Working for Mclane has been a great experience from they’re driving class helping me get my license to being in the road hands on. Mostly everyone in the company is pretty laid back and fun to be around.

Extremely physical job!!!

Turnover rate in the warehouse is extremely high which makes it very difficult as a driver.....product buried, pallets loaded backwards which causes the driver to dig for product. Routs are "usually" routed well.....EXTREMELY PHYSICAL JOB!!!!!

It's not what it use to be

McLane is "good" company. Benefits are good. Pay has drastically decreased over the years. You are required to work more and are paid less. Management is practically non-existent.

No moral within the company, no sense of accountability, and there's definitely no sense of pride in the job.
